Real-time Leather Defect Detection
With LASRA (Leather & Shoe Research Association) – New Zealand
Visual Computing Technologies is providing consultancy services to the New Zealand Leather and Shoe Research Association under a six-years research project, which aims to develop machine vision technologies to quantify leather quality. This project is under the umbrella of the one science platform research project from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
Expected project outcomes:
Development of a cutting-edge machine vision platform that can detect and quantify leather defects with:
- The ability to detect multiple defects simultaneously.
- Recommendations and modifications in the leather processing pipeline based on defect types.
- Automatic leather quality quantification features.
